For six full inning, Senior co-captain Cam Andrews and his Fryeburg Academy counterpart were locked up in a scoreless pitching duel. Andrews depended on – and received – a stellar Patriots defensive effort behind him, led by left fielder Matt Johnson, who had six putouts and the keystone combo of shortstop Conner Winslow and second baseman Logan True, who each of whom had three assists. But Andrews hit a bump in the road in the top of the seventh, walking the lead off batter and hitting the second. But the next two batters were retired, setting the stage for the next batter who hit a booming double to the center field fence that plated two runs. Before the dust settled, the Raiders got four consecutive hits, scored three more runs, and took a comfortable 5-0 lead to secure the win. Now 2-6 at the halfway point of the season, the Patriots face the Clipper of Yarmouth High School on Friday for a 4:00 encounter at Patriots Place Field.
