“I’m a Real Artist Now!”

Over the past several weeks, Kindergarten students have been making pinch pots in art class with Miss K. Students had to plan their designs and then chose colors for the inside and the outside of their pinch pots. Students spend time learning about various colors and by making their choices based on primary and secondary colors. After the masterpiece had been created, Miss K brought the finished pinch pots to the High School to fire them in the kiln. As a result, the kids were able to have real dish to use! Miss K carefully wrapped each pinch pot in a bag for the students to open, and held a party with each class to celebrate their wonderful creations! The reactions were incredible as they examined their final pieces. Student could be heard exclaiming “I’m a real artist now!” Kindergarten students used their pinch pots to have a special snack on the last day of the unit. These pinch pots are treasured pieces of art that can be kept and used so that students can be reminded regularly of their hard work and the beautiful things they can create. Thank you, Miss K, for bringing this wonderful experience to our students and helping develop their passion for creativity!
