Blast From The Past
Over the last several weeks second grade students have been researching and writing about famous historical people. Students eagerly dove into the study of biography books specifically learning how to use all of the unique text features and to locate interesting people from history. Students have been reading biographies and searching for additional nonfiction articles to learn more about their famous figure. In the end, students will need to share what the person is famous for, how they got started, facts about the person’s personal life, personal connections they made while researching, and any other facts they find interesting. On Friday, April 5th, second grade students dressed up as their famous person and presented to the kindergarten and first grade students. This fun culminating activity is always a great way to share student’s new knowledge. Great fun was had by all students!
