The GNG Patriots had no answers for the first place York High School Wildcats as the visitors put a 14-1 whooping on the home team at Patriots Place Field. Junior Matt Johnson, in his first varsity start, held the Wildcats pretty much in check for the first three innings as York held to a slim 2-0 lead. The Patriots put runners on base in the first three innings, but were snuffed out on three fine inning-ending double plays. But the Wildcats blew the game open with three runs in the fourth and nine in the fifth to coast to their sixth win of the season. GNG scored their lone run in the fifth as junior Aidan Sweeney walked to open the inning and later scored on a fielders choice. The Patriots, now 2-3, travel to Lake Region on Wednesday for a 4:00 game with the conference rival Lakers.
