The Lake Region Lakers tagged Patriots starting pitcher Cam Andrews with six of their eleven hits in the second inning, scored four times, and made it stick as they handed the Patriots a 4- 2 defeat at Bridgton Academy’s Koop Field. The Patriots wasted no time getting on the board as Cooper Winslow opened the game with a sharp single and went to third on Nick McCann’s double, then scored on Andrews’s sharp single to center. However, from the second inning on, the Patriots were held to just more three hits. The final run came in the seventh as Wyatt Kenney reached on an error, advanced to third on a Adian Sweeney single, and scored on a sacrifice bunt by Logan True. The GNG defense kept the game close to the final out with several fine plays. Senior Cooper Winslow continues to play solidly at shortstop, and Kyle Plummer, playing right field for the first time, made a couple of fine plays. Now 2-4, the Patriots look to face Morse High School on Friday, with Saturday in reserve in case of rain. The Wells game has been rescheduled to a date to be determined.
