Today’s game against York High School was certainly a reversal of fortunes from yesterday’s thrilling game against #2 ranked Fryeburg Academy as the Patriots suffered a humiliating 20- 2 loss to the #1 ranked Wildcats. York wasted no time putting up three runs in the first, but the Patriots responded with two of their own as Conner Saunders ripped a single to right center, scoring Aidan Sweeney and Aiden Gonzalez. But the scoring for the Patriots ended there. A porous Patriots defense did little to stem the potent Wildcat offense as the floodgates opened up scoring in bunches in each of the next two innings. The team will now set their sights on Friday as #5 Freeport comes to Patriots Place for the final home game of the 2019 season. It is also Senior Recognition Day for Co-captains Nick McCann and Cam Andrews along with senior Cooper Winslow who will be honored prior to the game. Friday’s program will begin at 3:45. Game time is 4:00.
