Mrs. Anketell’s Students Become Penguin Keepers

Kindergarten students in Mrs. Anketell’s class have been learning about penguins.  The class has discussed what penguins look like, where they live, how they move and what they eat.

Each student has become a Penguin Keeper and is in charge of feeding his/her adopted penguin fish and krill each day. Penguin Keepers have a special notebook. The notebooks include a labeled penguin diagram along with penguin facts that students have written independently. Students also write an addition sentence in their special notebooks.

In addition to keeping their special notebooks, the class has enjoyed creating penguin art projects. Frosty, the class sleepover penguin, has been busy visiting every home.

These lovable black and white friends have made winter learning fun for Mrs. Anketell’s class!
