Memorial School Awarded Berlin City “Drive for Education” Grant
Berlin City Auto Group recently announced its annual January grant recipients. For the tenth year, Berlin City’s “Drive for Education” program awarded grants to neighboring schools to benefit a variety of student programming needs.
Memorial School was fortunate to receive a $1,000 grant to support a spring field trip for the second grade to attend a children’s musical at the Maine State Music Theater in Brunswick. This grant will cover the entire cost of this trip; there will be no cost to families for their child to visit the theater. We are thrilled to be able to offer this incredible learning opportunity to our second grade students.
Memorial School, along with twenty-one other schools, was presented with the grant at a ceremony on Tuesday, January 14th. Members of the second grade Memorial School Kindness Club, School Counselor Katie Banks, and Principal Amanda Hennessey were on hand to receive the award. Thank you to Berlin City Auto Group for providing this generous grant and an awesome opportunity to New Gloucester’s second graders!
