The Western Maine Conference coaches have selected Nick McCann as an All Conference, Second Team catcher at their annual meeting last night. This is the second year that Nick has garnered this award. McCann led the Patriots in many offensive categories including batting average, hits, and extra base hits. But it was his prowess behind the plate that gained him the respect of conference opponents and coaches alike. Coach Brad Smith had high praise for his co-captain. “Nick called about 99% of the pitches in a game, which is rare nowadays, but we were always on the same page on critical counts. And his powerful and accurate arm no doubt deterred many potential base runners. A true leader both on and off the field.”
