Special Services
Every student with a disability has a right to a free, appropriate public education. MSAD 15 assures that every child of school age eligible for special education services under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act will receive an appropriate program of instruction and supportive services designed to meet his or her individual needs. Special Education services are provided to Gray and New Gloucester students by certified and/or licensed professionals or supervised support staff at no cost to the parents.
Special Services are provided in accordance with the Maine Unified Special Education Regulation, Birth to Age Twenty, Chapter 101. Also available for download is the Procedural Safeguards Notice.
MSAD 15 seeks to ensure that all children residing in the jurisdiction between the ages of 3 and 22 years who are in need of special education and related services, even if they are advancing from grade to grade, are identified, located and evaluated at public expense. Please see IHBAC Child Find policy on MSAD 15′s policies webpage.
