Maine School Data Dashboard & MSAD 15’s Dashboard
The Maine Department of Education has published the Maine School Data Dashboard, where you can review the most recent data on all schools, including MSAD 15 district and school-level information. The district’s most recent state accountability data can be viewed by selecting “State Assessments” from the dashboard list: https://www.maine.gov/doe/dashboard
Why This Information is Provided:
Under the federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), schools must share information about:
- Student achievement
- School accountability
- Teacher qualifications
This ensures transparency and helps families understand how students and schools are performing.
Student Assessments
Maine students participate in several state assessments:
- Maine Educational Assessment (MEA): Grades 3–8 and 11 (English Language Arts/Literacy & Math)
- Maine Science Assessment: Grades 5, 8, and 11
Educators use assessment data to inform instruction at the district, school, classroom, and individual level.
Opt-Out Information: Parents/guardians may choose to opt their child out of state testing. Contact your child’s principal for more information and to complete the required form.
School Accountability Indicators
Maine measures school success using five key indicators:
- Graduation rate
- Chronic absenteeism
- Proficiency of English language learners
- Academic progress in grades 3–8
- Student achievement in Math and English Language Arts (K–12)
Teacher Qualifications
The Data Dashboard also provides information about teacher credentials. Parents may request additional information about their child’s teacher’s professional qualifications by contacting the building principal.
Questions or More Information
Parents are encouraged to contact building principals with any questions about the Data Dashboard or ESSA information.
